Your Library Candidates for the April 1 Consolidated Elections

All community members in Barrington District 220 will vote for the new Barrington Area Public Library Board of Trustees. There are five candidates running for three seats for a full, six-year term. Here are the candidates you will see on your ballot:

  • Joe Bosnick has lived in Barrington for ten years and served in the Marine Corps as an Executive Officer. He has two young daughters who attend Saint Anne School and professionally, he manages a large organization. His vision “prioritizes the library’s enduring vitality, a diverse array of programming and materials, operational transparency, and robust community engagement in shaping its future.”  Find more information HERE.

  • Carrie Carr has been a Barrington Library Trustee since 2013 and is the current President of the library board. She previously served as Treasurer. Carrie has been a Barrington resident since 1997. In addition to her service on the library board, Carrie is a former President and Treasurer of the Barrington Junior Women’s Club and has chaired committees such as Barrington Giving Day and the annual fashion show. She was a Girl Scout leader for over 10 years and chaired numerous PTO committees while her daughters attended Barrington District 220 schools. Professionally, Carrie has spent her career working for a large global consulting company in talent and learning strategy. Find more information HERE.

  • Rachel Forsyth-Tuerck was a two-term public library trustee in Dedham, Massachusetts. She has lived in the Barrington area for 10 years and is a mom of three children who have attended both St. Anne's and District 220 schools. She is an active member of Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, BHS Soccer Boosters, and has served on numerous PTOs. She also volunteers with BStrong Together, Barrington Giving Day, and serves on the Board of Alpine Runners of Lake Zurich. Rachel believes that “public libraries provide essential resources that empower individuals at every stage of life, for every resident, and they are critical for our communities.” Find more information HERE.

  • Erin Matta has lived in Barrington since 2012 and has three children in Barrington District 220 schools. She holds degrees in psychology and human development and, as a small business owner, helps clients achieve their wellness goals. Erin is “committed to ensuring the library remains a dynamic, inclusive hub, with enriching resources and experiences.” Find more information HERE.

  • Richard McCarthy has over 20 years of experience as a library trustee in Elgin, Illinois. He also serves on the Executive Board of the Illinois Library Association, contributing to the “betterment of libraries throughout the State of Illinois.” Professionally, he is a Library Architect specializing in library operations and facilities. Richard says he “is committed to ensuring that our library remains a vibrant and essential community resource” and he is “dedicated to preserving local control and your freedom to read.” Find more information HERE.
