Prairie Details:
Prior to the sectional wins, regionals were a record-breaking day for Prairie Middle School's cross-country team as they won the SMCS Conference title in all six categories (four official and two open). This had never been done before.
Two runners, Alex Slantineanu and Thomas Blanke, won the 7th-grade and open boys titles, respectively. The team's strength was also evident, with the following runners placing among the top five (all-conference) in their categories: Dominic Voth, Ellie Ganas, Ashleigh Forbes, Thomas Blanke, Sadie Van Ryn, Kate Kusmerz, Natalie Birch, Lucas Piechowiak, Leo Barratta, Alan Margovsky, Everly Alexander, and Payton Crawford. The majority of the team also reached new personal best times.
Station Details:
The two Station girls who qualified for State are Cece Babel (8th grader) and Callie Ding (6th grader). Cece finished 9th at Sectionals, and Callie finished 11th. The girls as a team finished in 4th place and just missed going to state as a team by 5 points. Tait Goshe and Sam Zoller on the boys team both finished in the Top Ten.
Congratulations to all!
