Lake Zurich Together Planning Team Releases Draft Comprehensive Plan for Future Growth
The Lake Zurich Together Planning Team released a new Draft Comprehensive Plan at the start of the new year to help guide future growth over the next 10-20 years in the community.
Crafted by and for the Lake Zurich community, plan recommendations reflect a community vision, thorough data analysis, and involvement from local leaders, Village staff, community partners, and residents.
The Village’s new Draft Comprehensive Plan will serve as a policy framework to guide community leaders and decision-makers on matters related to growth, development, and quality of life over the next 10-20 years. The draft plan focuses on the following core drivers:
Increase diversity and density of destinations, shops, dining, and activities
Highlight arts, culture, and seasonal events to encourage exploration and leisure
Create safe, walkable sidewalks, bikeways and trails connecting various destinations
Offer a variety of high-quality housing options tailored to different life stages and needs
The team is hosting a Community Open House on Wednesday, January 15 at Vault 232 (35 W. Main Street) from 4 -6 p.m. where members of the community can drop in to browse exhibit and inspiration boards, ask questions and celebrate the future of Lake Zurich.
