Barrington Cultural Commission Hosts “Paint the Town Barrington” Plein Air Reception; Honors Award Winners

Over 30 Chicago-area plein air artists participated in last week’s “Paint the Town Barrington” experience bringing picturesque local scenes to life on canvas paintings.

The painting pop ups around town culminated with an awards reception and art sale at Barrington’s White House on Saturday, October 5, 2024 and was hosted by The Barrington Cultural Commission. 

First place, and a $500 prize, went to Cheryl Cook for her “Clear Day” at Citizen’s Park painting.

Second place, and a $300 prize, went to John Markese for his painting of the former “Norton’s General Store” on Lageschulte St.
