POSH Curls Opens in Barrington Nov. 1

Curly-hair specialist Annette Norwood is bringing her unique hair cutting techniques to Barrington with the opening of POSH Curls on November 1, 2024.

Located at 124 East Main Street, POSH Curls was dubbed the “first curly hair exclusive salon in Illinois” after opening its former Wheaton location back in 2008.

“We have curly hair clients who drive hours to see us, and some who even fly in,” said Annette. “Many of our clients are from the northwest and northern suburbs so Barrington seemed like a great spot for our new location.”

As a stylist for almost 30 years and after perfecting the curly cut over time, Annette developed The FORMA CUT™ method - an innovative and trademarked approach for enhancing wave and curl textures. Unlike standard cutting methods, this technique is adaptable for all curl types and creates the perfect shape for each individual client. "This is a dry curl shaped haircut," said Annette. "We are not pulling or moving the hair. We cut the curl where it lives.

"Many stylists are intimidated by textured hair," Annette continued. "I decided to focus exclusively on textured hair after seeing how a great haircut can be life-changing for these clients. And now, my salon services only curls."

The new salon will open on November 1, 2024 and will host a “Curls and Cocktails” open house on November 21 from 6-9 p.m. with demonstrations from 7-8 p.m.
