Robbie Gould Formally Announced as the Saint Viator High School Head Football Coach
Former Chicago Bears kicker Robbie Gould has officially been named the head football coach at Saint Viator High School, according to a press release issued Tuesday.
“I am both honored and excited to be joining Saint Viator High School, an institution with a storied tradition of excellence both on and off the field,” Gould said in a statement. “Creating a family atmosphere within our football program is of utmost importance to me. I believe in players supporting one another and striving for collective success. Our journey to greatness will begin together.”
Saint Viator President Ryan Aiello expressed enthusiasm about the hire. “I am excited to welcome Coach Gould and his family to Saint Viator,” Aiello said. “When we began our search, we were looking for a coach who understands our Viatorian mission, can navigate the landscape of high school football, and possesses the skills to develop our players athletically, academically and emotionally well into the future.”
Gould, who recently retired from the NFL, is the 10th highest-scoring player in league history. He played 11 seasons with the Chicago Bears and six with the San Francisco 49ers. A longtime Chicago-area resident, Gould most recently served as a coach at Rolling Meadows High School.
