Ways to Donate and Help After Hurricane Helene

The full picture of devastation has been emerging from Hurricane Helene, and the effects are disastrous.

In these times, it can be hard to know what to do from afar. Below is a short list of groups and organizations providing relief if you are looking for ways to help. Please check their websites for evolving needs.

If there are local fundraising efforts taking place, we would love to share those as well. Please tag us on social media @barringtonscoop or email us at hello@thebarringtonscoop.com.

Hope Mill Inc.

Because many of the areas of western North Carolina impacted by the storm are inaccessible mountain communities, a group of independent pilots with helicopters have been dropping off food, water, and supplies. Funds raised by Hope Mill, Inc. will be used for the most needed items, which include water, non-perishable food items, diapers, medical supplies, and life-saving medicine like insulin and blood pressure medications.

In a post made yesterday, 10/4/24, the group is still encouraging monetary donations as, “they are not done and they are not going anywhere. Countless families need to believe that support is here for the long haul.”
