Invite-Only Resort Now Open to Public for Special Events, Retreats, Weddings

November 1, 2024

Formerly a private, invite-only retreat, Bunker Hill Farms is now welcoming public bookings for special events, corporate retreats, weddings, and more. Situated on 450 scenic acres in McHenry County, the property offers luxurious accommodations, picturesque lakes, prairies, and gardens, plus curated activities and experiences for guests.

Now open to the public, Bunker Hill Farms offers customized itineraries that include shooting and archery, hiking, snowshoeing, ATV trail tours, spa services, yoga, cooking classes, and golf. The exclusivity of the property means that each booking reserves the entire space for one group only. Proceeds from all bookings support local charities through Bunker Hill Charities, the nonprofit arm dedicated to giving back to the community.

The property features 13 guest rooms with luxurious amenities. The main lodge includes an expansive entertainment lounge, wraparound terraces with lake views, a jacuzzi, fireplaces, and more. A nearby cottage, styled with upscale farmhouse decor, includes six bedrooms, a fitness center, meeting spaces, and outdoor relaxation areas. Additional accommodations include a private two-person suite in a renovated silo and an event-ready barn.

Mike Domek, founder of TicketsNow (acquired by Ticketmaster), and his wife, Amy, purchased Bunker Hill Farms in 2005, initially as a family vacation spot. The property has since evolved, previously available only by invitation or for charity events, including a Mud Run, Rockin’ the Hill concerts, and a Songwriters Concert.
